Each of us as individuals, family members, parents, business people, companies and countries are faced with challenges everyday. How we deal with these situations says a great deal about who we are and what we believe in. More often than not when confronted with difficult issues there may be options or choices that are required.
We could be faced with competing forces or opposing points of view and many times these forces have a strong voice and a hidden motive or agenda. One person's righteous cause could be another person's terrorism; one Nation's claim may constitute another's aggression against them. Here - is where we may face an Ethical Dilemma!
People of partisan points of view often cite some higher Moral Authority as their justification of a particular stance or position; some may go all the way up the ladder and use God as their lynch pin. Most moral and ethical conflicts turn on someone's self-interest. The "good", by this thinking, is whatever benefits oneself or one's group.
Ethical and Moral Dilemmas can create major conflicts and the partisans on both sides of many of these issues wage the battle with a take-no-prisoners mentality. There may even be cries of impending doom or the waving of a Holy Book - The Bible.
There a couple of things to consider about these dilemmas: If we work at becoming informed to the fullest extent, ethical issues/dilemmas do seem to come into focus. Ethical dilemmas seemed to solved or overcome mostly from faith-driven thinking and the use of the Golden Rule and Integrity.
Treat the World as you would wish it to treat you!
